Calfee Emerging Companies and Venture Capital Practice Group Co-Leader and Partner Michael Hurley was a speaker at the “Setting Up Your Legal Structure and Relationships” session of Queen City Angels’ 24th Annual Entrepreneur Boot Camp on June 4, 2024.

The Entrepreneur Boot Camp empowers entrepreneurs across Cincinnati to grow and revitalize their ventures through education, mentorship, and networking.

Queen City Angels is an investment collective of nearly 200 experienced accredited investors who provide funding, support, and guidance to early-stage growth companies in the Cincinnati region. Since its founding in 2000, members have directly invested $100 million in more than 100 young companies, with follow-on capital from these companies exceeding $800 million.

Michael focuses his practice on counseling privately held and public clients in addition to private equity firms and their portfolio companies on a wide range of business and legal concerns covering the full spectrum of business cycles across a variety of industries. He joined Calfee in 2014 and was elected Partner in 2019.

Since 2022, Michael has been recognized as a Leading Lawyer in Corporate/M&A by Chambers USA in Ohio: South & Central, most recently in Band 4 (2024). Michael has also been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® for Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions Law, and Leveraged Buyouts and Private Equity Law (2024). He also was named to the Ohio Super Lawyers, Ohio Rising Stars list (2016-2024) and to the "Cincy Leading Lawyers" list by Cincy Magazine (2018-2023).
