Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP is pleased to announce that the firm elected five partners in 2024.

"We are very happy to welcome Abbey Kinson Brown, John F. Fisher, Cynthia A. Neal, Adam Pretty, and Robert J. Ward as Partners of the firm," said Calfee's Managing Partner Thomas M. Welsh. "These five attorneys have each demonstrated exceptional dedication to the firm's clients as well as a tremendous work ethic. They are each excellent attorneys, and we believe they will continue to be critical members of their respective practice areas and to the business markets they serve."

  • Abbey Kinson Brown (Cleveland office) is a Labor and Employment attorney who assists business clients with management-side employment law issues and employment litigation matters. She regularly represents employers before the EEOC and state agencies, and she has experience defending employers against class actions and collective actions. 
  • John F. Fisher (Columbus office) has extensive and varied litigation experience, representing clients across a variety of industries when they are involved in disputes pending in state and federal courts, arbitration, and administrative tribunals. His experience includes successfully resolving contract litigation matters, construction claims, class action lawsuits, public utility disputes, and product liability cases.
  • Cynthia A. Neal (Cincinnati office) is an Intellectual Property attorney whose practice includes patent preparation and prosecution, with a special focus on mechanical devices, software, complex chemical processes, and pharmaceutical formulations. Cindy also helps clients navigate the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and other regulations related to the possession, trade, and export of U.S.-controlled assets.
  • Adam Pretty (Columbus office) is a Corporate and Finance attorney focused on counseling public companies and privately held company clients including private equity firms across a diverse range of industries in transactional matters. He has significant experience assisting clients with mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, cross-border transactions, joint ventures, commercial contracting, entity formation, and corporate governance matters.
  • Robert J. Ward (Columbus office) is a member of the firm's Corporate and Finance group, and he has significant experience advising clients on a variety of transactional and corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial transactions, and corporate compliance and governance. Rob has experience serving as an in-house legal director for an early-stage start-up company, and he brings that important perspective to the clients he serves.
