Tianyue was previously a Summer Associate with Calfee, where he drafted responses to USPTO office actions and instruction letters to counsel in EU, China and Japan regarding patent prosecution.
Before joining Calfee, Tianyue worked as a Global Law Fellow for Yuasa and Hara in Tokyo, Japan. There, he advised clients regarding contract disputes, patent infringement, software license and internet domain names, as well as conducted research and drafted memoranda on a variety of subjects.
Tianyue earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he was the recipient of the Rickert Award for Excellence in Legal Writing. He earned his M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and earned his B.S. from The University of Hong Kong.
Tianyue joined Calfee as an Associate in 2020.
