Alexa M. Grillis

Alexa focuses her practice on intellectual property issues in the context of complex transactional matters, particularly mergers and acquisitions and private equity deals. She advises clients on the intellectual property due diligence process and on drafting and negotiating deal documents involving IP assets across a wide range of industries.

Alexa also has experience counseling clients on restrictive covenant issues, including noncompetition, nonsolicitation, and confidentiality matters.

Prior to joining Calfee in 2026, Alexa served as an Associate Attorney in the Intellectual Property Group at an Am Law 100 law firm.

Alexa was an Honors Intern with the Federal Bureau of Investigation for two years prior to completing law school.

During law school at Indiana University Maurer School of Law, Alexa served as the Senior Executive Editor of the Indiana Law Journal and as a member of the Intellectual Property Association.
