Overview

Casey served as a Summer Associate with the firm’s IP practice group in 2024. In his role, he drafted office action responses for inventions in numerous fields related to manufacturing and consumer products. He drafted trademark applications, responses to trademark office actions, and client correspondence. Casey also conducted non-infringement analyses and drafted design patents.

Prior to his attendance at Cleveland State University College of Law, Casey sat for and passed the USPTO Registration Exam. Casey then earned his J.D., cum laude, and received the CALI award for property. Casey worked throughout law school either in patent prosecution or general litigation.

Casey earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Mathematics and Philosophy from Cleveland State University, which he attended on a full scholarship. Additionally, he was on the Dean’s List and graduated summa cum laude.

As a student at Cleveland State University, Casey completed several research projects and defended a thesis in the field of biodiesel fuel. Additionally, Casey was his team’s leader for the annual senior design competition where their design and performance won second place. During his time at Cleveland State University, Casey worked for various companies specializing in water softening and purification, manufacturing, halotherapy, 3D design, and more.
