Vanessa V. Healy

With significant knowledge gained from both defending and prosecuting complex litigation cases, Vanessa has the skills and experience needed to counsel clients on a wide range of investigations, legal disputes, and courtroom trials. Vanessa also assists clients in developing policies and procedures and conducting training in the areas of regulatory and ethical compliance.

As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Vanessa prosecuted cases involving securities fraud, public corruption, money laundering, bribery, health care fraud, tax fraud, embezzlement, identity theft, violent crime, and narcotics trafficking. One of her numerous trial victories included convicting a defendant on all 43 counts for defrauding the U.S. government of COVID-19 pandemic benefits and obtaining a restitution order of more than $1.2 million.

Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Vanessa worked as a litigation associate at an AmLaw 50 firm for more than four years, where her practice focused on white-collar criminal defense, corporate compliance, and anti-corruption due diligence.

Vanessa served as a federal judicial law clerk for the Honorable Joseph R. Goodwin, where she managed the court’s civil and multidistrict litigation docket containing more than 70,000 product liability actions. She also externed for the Honorable Karen Nelson Moore in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Vanessa volunteered as an Adjunct Professor of International Criminal Law at Case Western Reserve University School of Law and will be teaching Criminal Procedure II for Cleveland State University School of Law’s online program in the Fall of 2026.

While attending law school, Vanessa served as the Executive Research Editor of the Cleveland State Law Review and as a research/teaching assistant for Legal Writing & Torts.
