On March 25, 2021, Michael Bowen, Associate with Calfee's Government Relations and Legislation and Litigation practice groups, was a panelist in The National Association of Minority Contractors' (NAMC) March Level Up session.
This month’s Level Up session focused on the importance of building your back office – HR, IT, Marketing, Legal and Accounting Services. A report from a 2019 Cleveland State University study indicated that 91% of Black-owned businesses are one-person shops. As a result, business owners must wear many hats and work in several roles. Mike Bowen provided legal information for business owners in need of assistance in order to grow their businesses.
