Tribune Chronicle

James (Jim) F. Lang, Partner and Leader of Calfee’s Public Law and Public Law Litigation practice groups, was mentioned in the May 19, 2021, Tribune Chronicle article titled "Newton Falls Recall Goes to State High Court" by David Skolnick.

The article details a dispute over the June 1, 2021, Village of Newton Falls, Ohio recall election for the Council’s 4th Ward member; the case is now being reviewed by the state's highest court.

Jim Lang filed a complaint with the Ohio Supreme Court on behalf of the village law director, clerk, and 4th Ward councilwoman against the Trumbull County Board of Elections and its four board members in an effort to stop the June 1 recall election due to their contention that the motion proposing the June 1 date for the election didn't receive a majority vote of members present at the May 10 village council meeting as is required by the village charter.
