Cleveland Mayor, Frank G. Jackson, will host his annual State of the City on Thursday, October 10th at 7:00 pm. Michael Bowen, associate with Calfee's Government Relations practice group, highlights three things to watch for:

  • Say Yes to Education Cleveland: In its first-year, Mayor Jackson will certainly address the progress of the program and goals for the upcoming year. Education is important to Mayor Jackson, so we look forward to hearing updates on Say Yes!
  • Economic development updates: Mayor Jackson is anticipated to update the community on various development projects, such as the NRP Group’s and University Settlement’s development of affordable housing in Cleveland's Slavic Village Neighborhood, the $1 billion development in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood, development along the Opportunity Corridor and Cleveland Foundation’s move to the Midtown neighborhood.
  • Cleveland’s future: From hosting the NCAA Division 1 Basketball Tournament to the development of Blockland, it is almost guaranteed that Mayor Jackson will make a major announcement(s) that will make headlines about future events to take place in the City of Cleveland in 2020.
