Overview

Payal has significant experience representing companies in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, food, retail, health care, insurance, and automotive. Taking a client-oriented approach, she is adept at conducting buy-side and sell-side due diligence, and she is skilled at advising companies on formation and governance as well as services and supply agreements.

Payal joined Calfee as an Associate Attorney in 2025, after serving as a corporate associate at an AmLaw 100 firm and at an AmLaw 200 law firm.

During law school, Payal served as a law clerk with the Federal Communications Commission’s Pricing Policy Division (FCC) in Washington, D.C. She also served as a law clerk with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, Antitrust Division. Payal served as the president of the Cybersecurity and Privacy Law Association at Indiana University Maurer School of Law.

Prior to law school, Payal worked as an analyst with a business consulting and services firm, as an investment banking analyst, and as a business finance consultant.

  • Represented several private equity funds in a number of platform and portfolio company acquisitions in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, food retail, health care and insurance.
  • Drafted general corporate documents and provided assistance to companies in all stages of development, including incorporation, corporate governance, and organization.
  • Represented a private company in a stock buyout of its minority shareholders.
  • Advised numerous companies in connection with financing, including term and revolving loans.
