Calfee’s Client Service and Business Continuity Plan

Dear Calfee Clients and Friends,

As the world continues to closely monitor the COVID-19 outbreak, we want to assure you that Calfee's leadership team, attorneys, and Calfee Strategic Solutions (CSS) professionals are continually evaluating and responding to outbreak developments in order to advise and provide services to our clients while safeguarding Calfee personnel, clients, service providers, office visitors and the general public. 

Calfee attorneys and CSS professionals have been actively advising clients as they react to the immediate impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak and plan for possible future effects on their business operations. We are monitoring closures and procedure changes in state and federal courts where Calfee is representing clients in active matters. We stand ready to assist all of our clients with your legal and business needs during this unpredictable situation. Please do not hesitate to let us know if additional support is needed.

Beginning with actions taken in late January related to postponing planned business travel to China and later to Italy, Calfee has continued to assess risks and to enact and update our business continuity plan (COVID-19 Response Plan) as the COVID-19 situation has evolved globally and now in the U.S.  As part of our Response Plan, we have initiated a number of precautions based on recommendations from local, state and global health officials and organizations. We will continue to actively monitor and update our Response Plan as this complex situation evolves. 

Calfee personnel are equipped to work remotely if they choose to do so, and/or in the event Calfee’s Response Team determines or is mandated to close an office. With portable laptop devices and remote-access technologies, we will be able to completely function in serving clients without interruption using our secure, cloud-based systems in the event of an office closure. Furthermore, we have remote conference technology, which allows us to host video and audio conferences as needed. We have been actively testing these various technologies and other firmwide systems to ensure strong performance and continuity of service in the event of a worsening of the COVID-19 outbreak in a particular market in which Calfee has an office.
