Overview

Olivia’s experience includes drafting purchase agreements and post-closing memorandums as well as researching and drafting litigation memoranda and completing source checks, citation corrections, and general revisions for a LexisNexis treatise.

She joined Calfee in 2022 after serving as a Summer Associate with the firm in 2019.

Olivia worked as an extern for the Honorable Judge Donald J. Nugent, United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, where she drafted judicial memoranda, judgements and opinions for sentencing as well as various motions and habeas briefs. In addition, she observed trials, hearings, plea proceedings, and pre-trial and status conferences. Olivia completed legal research and provided recommendations regarding sentencing, motions, and pleas.

Olivia also served as a research assistant at a criminal law office where she reviewed discovery documents of a criminal case involving a double homicide, discussed various discovery items, and created a comprehensive timeline for the day of the crime.

Olivia began her career in the classroom as a Fifth Grade Science teacher at KIPP Academy West in Houston, Texas. During her time as a teacher, Olivia planned and executed daily lesson plans to classes of 28 students and achieved 86% passage rate on Texas's standardized STAAR exam, earning the recognition as “Top Performer in Greater Houston.”

Olivia earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 2021, where she served as the Submissions Editor for the Cleveland State Law Review and was a member of the Moot Court Team. Olivia also earned an M.A. in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education and a B.A. in Anthropology, with minors in Global Health and Africana Studies, from Cornell University in 2015.
