Prior to joining Calfee in 2021, KJ was an Associate in the Venture Technology Group of a global law firm’s New York office. He has experience advising clients on a variety of contractual and transactional matters across the lifespan of startups, including organizational documents, commercial contracts, and investments and acquisitions.
KJ served as a Law Clerk and Summer Associate with McCarter & English, LLP in Philadelphia after spending time as a Law Student Counselor for the Detkin Intellectual Property and Technology Law Clinic and as a Legal Intern for the Corporate Law Group, Intellectual Property Section at the City of Philadelphia. In addition, he served as a Legal Intern for the Commercial and Intellectual Property Law Group at NASA in Washington, D.C.
KJ earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he served as Board Editor (2018-2019) and Associate Editor (2017-2018) of the Journal of Law & Innovation, as well as the Senior Symposium Advisor of the Penn Intellectual Property Group. In addition, during law school, KJ was a student member of the Penn Law Inn of Court. He received his B.S., magna cum laude, in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering with a minor in English from The Ohio State University.
