Overview

Mandy is knowledgeable in a wide range of intellectual property subject matters, including biomedical devices and engineering (including bio-mechanics and neural control), mechanical engineering, and computer software and processing technologies. For example, she has worked on subject matter involving encryption technology, mobile phone network connectivity systems, and food processing systems.

Mandy has patent litigation experience before various U.S. district courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission.

She has participated in litigating invalidity and infringement issues of both utility and design patents. Additionally, her experience includes writing motions to invalidate patents, motions for and opposing summary judgment on non-infringement and invalidity, claim construction briefing, invalidity contentions, preparing expert witnesses for deposition, and taking depositions. She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants.

Mandy has experience drafting freedom-to-operate and patentability opinions.

Prior to joining Calfee in 2017, Mandy was an associate in the D.C. offices of Steptoe & Johnson LLP and Hunton & Williams LLP.
