CINCINNATI, April 13, 2018 – James A. Singler, partner in Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP’s Estate and Succession Planning practice group, has been appointed as a member of the Symmes Township Zoning Commission. The Symmes Township Zoning Commission reviews zone change requests for recommendation to the Board of Trustees and approves final development plans.
At Calfee, Singler works with clients in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, complex estate and gift tax issues, wealth transfers, business succession planning, planning for children with special needs, Medicaid planning and elder law issues. Singler is also the Adjunct Professor of Estate Planning at the University of Cincinnati School of Law and was named to Cincinnati Business Courier’s “Forty Under 40” Class of 2012. He is a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Cincinnati Estate Planning Council. Singler is also an officer of the Estate Planning Section of the Cincinnati Bar Association.
Active in the community, Singler serves on the Board of Portrait of a Soul. He also serves as General Counsel for the Patients of The Heartland Homecare Hospice. Singler is President of The University Club of Cincinnati as well as a member of its Board of Governors.

Symmes Township is situated in the northeast corner of Hamilton County, Ohio. The Township was formed in 1824 from the eastern portion of Sycamore Township and bears the name of John Cleves Symmes (1742-1814) who, in 1788, made the "Miami Purchase" which led to the founding of Cincinnati.
