CINCINNATI, May 10, 2018 – Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP recently announced that Andrew M. Simon has joined the firm’s Cincinnati office as an Associate in its Corporate and Capital Markets group.

Simon is a business attorney who primarily advises corporate clients on mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings and other transactional matters.

Simon represents both buyers and sellers in transactions across a variety of industries, including waste management, electronic components, general manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and consumer goods. In financings, Simon represents commercial banks, equity investors and opportunistic investors in both debt and equity securities.

Simon also provides governance and general corporate counseling to public and private companies, as well as private equity clients and their portfolio companies.

Additionally, Simon has developed an expertise in transactional advisory services for distressed situations. He has advised buyers of distressed assets and troubled companies, lenders, indenture trustees and creditor groups in both section 363 transactions and out-of-court asset sales.

“We are thrilled to have Andy join the firm,” said John Mongelluzzo, partner-in-charge of Calfee’s Cincinnati Office. “Andy’s knowledge and experience are great additions to our growing Corporate and Capital Markets practice and further enhance our firm’s ability to meet the unique needs of our clients.”

Prior to a career in law, Simon was a financial analyst at a boutique investment bank focused on providing advisory services to troubled companies and creditor groups. He also worked in the transactions advisory services group of a Big Four accounting firm.

Simon earned his J.D. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law in 2008 and his B.B.A. in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame in 1998.
