Records Coordinator
Location: Columbus Office
Description
This position is responsible for managing and facilitating the Records Management needs of the Columbus office in coordination with department staff.
Responsibilities Include:

Works closely with all levels of personnel to provide Records Management services specific to their practice group requirements and in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Provides project management for organizing and converting storage space areas.

Performs clerical tasks related to updating and maintaining legal files in accordance with established Records Management policies and procedures.

Locates, retrieves and delivers files and boxes.
-
Processes loose filing for centralized and offsite files in the firm’s storage facility.

Accesses, edits and maintains Records Management database.

Performs file inventory scans.

Monitors department shelf space and audits files for offsite storage.

Facilitates offsite storage file pick-up and delivery process; prepares and organizes paperwork, verifies file and box count, and confirms client/matter and box numbers for delivery.

Other related tasks and duties as assigned by the Columbus office COO and/or department manager.
General Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent; some college coursework a plus

Prior experience working in a professional services environment; law firm Records Management experience preferred

Strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to work productively with all levels of firm personnel, while participating as a team member

Effective oral and written communication skills; high degree of professionalism

High degree of organization, flexibility and reliability in order to set priorities and manage multiple responsibilities to ensure deadlines are met

Proficiency in Microsoft Windows/Office Suite XP and database experience preferred

Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm

Ability to regularly lift boxes containing files weighing approximately 40 pounds
