WADE primarily advises clients on employee benefits and executive compensation issues.  He works closely with a diverse range of companies in the development, implementation, administration and termination of qualified retirement plans, welfare plans, cafeteria plans and VEBAs.  He provides counsel on matters of plan design, audits and remedial programs, U.S. Department of Labor audits, and plan administration, including participant accounting, compliance testing, distributions and tax reporting.

Wade frequently assists clients on the administration of plans under ERISA, HIPAA and the Internal Revenue Code including counsel regarding ERISA fiduciary and trust compliance.  He has represented clients such as FirstEnergy Corp., Nestlé USA, Inc. and RPM International, Inc.

Wade is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and the Worldwide Employee Benefits Network.  He served as a trust officer with Bank One before becoming a vice president and trust officer with FirstMerit Bank from 1987 to 1997, during which time he was the manager of the employee benefits trust area.  Wade joined Calfee in 1997 and became a partner in 2008.
