4/2/2010 : Changes to the Awarding of Fines for False Patent Marking
Through a recent court ruling, patent owners can receive up to $500 per article of falsely marked product, rather than a fine per incident. This decision has given private citizens or companies a significantly enhanced incentive to make false patent marking claims.
1/1/2010 : Calfee Attorneys Recognized as Rising Stars
Calfee has had three of its attorneys selected for inclusion in Ohio Super Lawyers - Rising Stars edition 2010, by their peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics Magazine. To find attorneys for the Rising Stars edition, Law & Politics mails ballots to the attorneys included in the most recent Super Lawyers listing. These individuals are asked to vote for the best attorneys who are either 40 or under or who have been practicing 10 or fewer years. They are instructed to vote for lawyers they have personally observed in action. In addition to this, a research team reviews the credentials of potential candidates and assigns points based on a set of defined evaluation criteria.

Raymond Rundelli, a partner in Calfee's Intellectual Property group, has been appointed to the Geauga County Public Library Board of Trustees by the Geauga County Commissioners. He will fill the remainder of an unexpired seven year term of a trustee who resigned earlier this year.
