DON concentrates on workers’ compensation and related employment litigation.  He represents and counsels employers regarding workers’ compensation injuries, occupational diseases and intentional torts.

Don has extensive experience litigating on behalf of employers before the Industrial Commission in various Ohio regions and has appeared before the full Industrial Commission on numerous occasions.  He is a jury trial veteran, and as an appellate advocate has appeared before various Ohio courts of appeals and the Ohio Supreme Court.  Don’s clients include automobile dealers, equipment distributors, food and soft drink producers, hospitality industries, manufacturers and scrap metal dealers.

An adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law where he teaches the course in workers’ compensation law and theory, Don serves as the academic advisor for the Ohio State Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Specialty Board.  He has lectured at seminars sponsored by private and public organizations including the American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association and the National Workers’ Compensation Defense Network.

Don has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for 10 years, designated an Ohio Super Lawyer and has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.  He is a member of the American, Ohio and Cleveland Bar Associations as well as  the Cleveland Committee on Foreign Relations.

Don began his tenure with Calfee in 1999.
