Marcia J. Wexberg

MARCIA serves as chair of the firm’s Estate and Succession Planning group.  She concentrates her talents on providing counsel to those in need of estate and trust planning and administration, charitable and corporate succession planning.  She helps clients analyze and develop sophisticated estate plans and deals with cutting edge planning tools for high net worth individuals and families. 

Marcia’s representative experience includes corporate control transfers, lifetime and charitable gift planning, post-mortem tax plans and probate court litigation.
 
Marcia serves as an officer and trustee of the Benjamin Rose Institute, as a trustee of the City Club of Cleveland Forum Foundation, and as a member of the In Counsel With Women board of directors.  She is a member of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland executive committee in addition to serving on its board of directors and is a member of the Cleveland Foundation’s Philanthropy and Communications Committee. She was the inaugural chair of the Diamond Advisory Group of University Hospitals and was their first Distinguished Advisor Award winner (2007).  Marcia was named the Distinguished Estate Planner of the Year (2008) by the Estate Planning Council of Cleveland, has received the YWCA Woman of Achievement Award (2009), the Northern Ohio Live Rainmaker Award (2007) and was named as a Women of Note finalist by Crain’s Cleveland Business (2011).  She was a member of the Leadership Cleveland Class of 1998 and serves as class president.  A member of the executive committee and former chair of the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Planned Giving Council, Marcia also has served as vice chair of the Women Managing Money Educational Project of the Women’s Community Foundation and was the founding chair of the Professional Advisory Committee of the Jewish Community Federation.  In addition, she has served on the board of directors of the Northern Ohio Planned Giving Council and The Montefiore Foundation.  Marcia is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, as well as a frequent lecturer and noted author.  Marcia has been selected as one of The Best Lawyers in America in trusts and estates law and designated an Ohio Super lawyer.  She is a member of the American, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations.
 
Marcia was an associate then a partner in a Philadelphia law firm until 1990, when she joined Calfee as a partner. She was named to the firm’s executive committee in 2003.
