KRISHNA is an intellectual property attorney with experience in all aspects of protection, enforcement and licensing of intellectual property rights in a broad range of engineering and scientific disciplines (mobile applications, consumer products, medical devices, software and internet technologies, hardware technologies, and business methods).
Krishna’s patent practice encompasses patent preparation and prosecution, patent opinions and counseling (novelty, infringement, invalidity, and freedom to operate), and product clearances. He is also experienced in matters relating to intellectual property asset management (portfolio management), including cross-border transactions, IP acquisition, patent valuation, commercialization and licensing.
Krishna's corporate work includes being part of M&A due diligence and transaction teams, conducting asset valuations, planning and investigating publicly available information on the Target, conducting IP audits, and managing the IP due diligence outcomes in the ultimate deal structure.
Krishna helps clients in negotiating and drafting a broad range of complex technology agreements including inbound and outbound licenses, non-disclosure/confidentiality/secrecy agreements, software development agreements and outsourcing agreements.
Krishna has more than 10 years experience evaluating and negotiating potential licensing and acquisition opportunities in the software industry; negotiating, drafting and analyzing a wide variety of commercial agreements, and managing products, contracts, vendors and risk in an organizational setting. Most recently, he worked as director of technology for Cleveland State University. He has taught as an adjunct lecturer of computer science at Cleveland State University.
Krishna received his M.B.A. from Cornell University and J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where he served as Executive Business Editor and Technology Editor for the Cleveland State Law Review. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in computer science from Cleveland State University.
Krishna is a member of the Board of Directors of the South Asian Bar Association of Ohio and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Asian American Bar Association of Ohio. He is also an active member of the American Bar Association.
Krishna serves on Ohio Governor John Kasich’s Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Advisory Council. The nonpartisan statewide Council is charged with advising the Governor and each Cabinet-level state agency, board and commission on issues of concern and importance to the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities in Ohio.
His article “The Discovery Within: Employing E-Discovery Coordinators for Management of Electronic Discovery Processes in Federal and State Cases” was published in the Spring 2011 edition of the Temple Journal of Science, Technology & Environmental Law.
