Colleen M. O'Neil

COLLEEN is a litigator in the Business, Corporate and Commercial Litigation group, the Insurance Recovery group, the firm’s Labor & Employment group and the Energy Industry team.  She serves as co-chair of the Energy Industry Team.  Colleen has extensive representative experience in federal and state courts on behalf of clients resolving disputes concerning:

  • Commercial contract disputes
  • Title VII claims
  • Real property disputes
  • Federal civil rights litigation
  • Employment and trade secret claims
  • Employee benefits and ERISA claims
  • Estate and probate matters

Colleen has counseled and represented clients on insurance recovery issues and employment and labor issues.  She has successfully prosecuted and defended a variety of business tort claims in both federal and state courts.  Colleen has represented clients in the energy industry in various types of litigation, including contractual disputes, real estate disputes and employment matters.  She also has extensive appellate experience appearing before the United States Courts of Appeals for the First, Fifth and Sixth Circuits, the United States Supreme Court and the Eighth District Court of Appeals of Ohio.

Belonging to the Ohio and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations, Colleen is a member of the Litigation and Employment Sections in these organizations.  She is an active member of the Federal Bar Association as well.  Colleen is a member of the firm’s Associate Committee and is heavily involved in the community.

Colleen was an associate with the law firm of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey before joining Calfee in 1998.
