CHERYL’S practice concentrates on estate planning, probate administration, probate litigation and estate taxation. She counsels wealthy individuals in connection with the development and implementation of sophisticated estate plans, charitable giving plans and business succession plans. She represents fiduciaries in probate court and before state and federal tax authorities. Her experience includes designing Life Insurance Trusts, Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts, Charitable Remainder and Lead Trusts, Private Foundations, Dynasty Trusts and Sales to Grantor Trusts.
Cheryl is a Fellow of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of The Estate Planning Council of Cleveland. She is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law Section (chair 2001) and has presented lectures before the Estate Planning Institute and at the Marvin R. Pliskin Advanced Probate and Estate Planning Seminar. Cheryl is also a member of the American, Ohio State and Florida State Bar Associations and is an Ohio State Bar Association Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law. She is listed as an Ohio Super Lawyer in Estate Planning and Probate and is a former board member of The Estate Planning Council of Cleveland, Art House Inc. and Brooklyn-Brighton Development Corporation.
Cheryl was an associate in the law offices of Ulmer & Berne and Kelly, McCann & Livingstone before joining Calfee in 2000. She became a partner with the firm in 2005.
