BRENT’s practice involves counseling Calfee’s closely and publicly-held clients, as well as private equity firms and their portfolio companies, on general corporate and business matters, new business formation and development, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, and joint venture transactions.
Brent specializes in consummating mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, exits, divestitures and restructurings for a wide range of companies and industries. His experience with private equity and investment funds helps him assist clients in capital formation matters, including venture and mezzanine capital and other private equity financings.
Additionally, Brent has extensive experience counseling clients on complex contract law matters, distributor and sales agent agreements, sales and purchasing contracts and related terms and conditions of sale and purchase.
In community matters, Brent serves on the board of directors of the Julie Billiart School and is a member of the Executive Board of Playhouse Square Partners. He is also a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. Brent joined Calfee in 2003 and became a partner in 2012.
